Skincare secrets revealed! Old Fav Edition

Since I'm kinda feeling generous today, I would like to share a product list of my old faves before I went to makeup blogging here in the free sphere.

These products were my products in my twenties to thirties, but some of them can't buy already either they were phased out with new variants, or these have become cost preventive for an ordinary writer/blogger like me to even include in my routine.  Geez times are bad for blogger displaced by the social lore of heat heat angst against the ageing jobless! Help me out here us women who want more opportunities everywhere in the werks (pun).

My list of memorable product favs:

1.  Olive oil spray of Body Shop

I loved and kept on buying thing product. I only stopped buying when I became older as priorities have to be better in place.  The olive oil spray of Body Shop was light to the feel the way I remembered it, it didn't feel greasy and it smells good on skin. I can go out without a spritz of scent and with just this oil spray kindle on my hands.  Good memories eh?

2.  Bench's Cheek and Lip Tint (the very first original formulation). Before there were the sky high skin crave for cheek blushes that break a woman's budget, the Bench Lip and Cheek tint was  perfect in my memory of skincare buys. As the sun rays in on my skin dabbed with the Bench Lip and Cheek tint, it left  a soft glow pinkish hue that was love-worthy in my late twenties when I was Just catching up on skin and makeup care.

3.  MAC 2-in-1 Foundation Studio Fix.  I MAY NOT BE IN TUNE WITH THE TECHNICALITIES OF THE LABEL AND ALL, BUT MAC IS MY teen "like/ swoon" favorite of all makeup!  Go getter from abroad 'coz it's so pricey locally, I super love MAC and trust it to make my makeup perfect when I was young and going out to party!

4.  MY GOOD DERMA RECOMMENDED FACIAL CLEANSER THAT IS CLOSE TO THE MILDEST.  (MADE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN) . I will not share brand in respect to my privacy of brand favs just for this one.

5.  Cetaphil.  No explanation needed. Whenever I simply can't get over my skincare probs, I grab/get a Cetaphil even in the smallest bottle.  I love Cetaphil!

6.  Dove soap.  No further introduction needed. DOVE IS LOVE ON THE SKIN.  CREAMY AND GENTLE LATHER, Dove is a staple buy for me in my twenties and thirties.

Need I say more for now?

Happy New Year, readers of The Makeup Philosopher.

Edited.

Catching up in 2025!

In here for the long haul, the crowning blog of my posts.  Happy New Year and cheers to a new generation of women empowered skincare and makeup fans.

Really.

As if being sponsor-deprived have made me shoo away from patronizing skincare and yes makeup intermittently while accepting the fact that old age is cruelty from the peeps locally. But really now is 49 old age already! I dare rest and wait for same age women like me to unshare this view as here in the Philippines, only the young are given opportunities for work and a peaceful social life.

Yes, philosophy of all philosophies it's sourgrape rule in the Filo as many locals crush every bend and whim of older bloggers to say what they want to say when bloggers are not really showing might especially that they've been replaced by the local subculture of enterprising under the hoodie wealthy women who simply shoo away bloggers from their home and deprive them of their rights to equality.

I would like to share deep more but I couldn't because this is my makeup and skincare blog and thus must feel good in the read right?

Hershelayed, delayed being given support is totally unacceptable as women bloggers are not uncaptivated by the lack of decency and respect being given to bloggers who try to live in privacy.

Anyway, as old as 49 I go share that a recent vlog of a celebrity made me realize that maybe ageing without shriveled skin is really less of a crushing woe even for celebrities?

My oh my I sure was surprised to see an older celeb who was terribly good looking  in his heydey as star "most fancied" now bowing to old age and displaying shriveled skin. It doesn't make me see him less don't get me wrong.

What made me realize is that maybe celebs locally are really not that conscious to have looking tired shriveled hands and skin as we makeup and skincare bloggers would like to avoid?

Maybe an all around skin magic to avoid skin shrivel is just a dream?

But i don't quash the dream as I will continue to share fancy and practical products that help women and men (include the husband skincare routine in buying women bloggers us!), I say just hang in there and things will probably get better, even if skincare products locally are shooting up the price racks and making others more unaffordable to even bloggers like me.

So Happy New Year for now, soon I share my updated skincare and makeup routine after gloating about ageing and unsociable local interaction currently pervasive in a small havey city without a heart for writers! LAFINE EVERYONE.
