Who would have thought that the baking soda we use for general cleaning can be used for the face for cleansing?
Whoa I've heard this many times from many youngs who are way ahead of me in beauty trends. But the mom in me izzz skeptical-- isn't it harsh?
Admittingly beyond baking, I conveniently use baking soda only for cleaning my kitchen tile so why on Earth, would I even think of using it for the face?
But going out of my comfort zone is what blogging of recent wave has taught me.
The first time I saw Etude House's baking soda deep cleansing foam, I really was bent on saying pass.
But last month, I forgot my facial soap at home. Since I had no other option and I saw my sister's Etude House Baking Soda deep cleansing foam conveniently located within arms reach, I asked my sis if I could use it.
Nothing spectacular after first use but I did feel the suds with micro beads touching my face.
And so just a day after using this Etude House facial cleanser honestly I saw my skin lighter and softer.
And I decided maybe I could use this brand for my regular exfoliation.
To date I have not found a cleanser that exfoliates without being harsh. It's either I would get some sort of reaction after continued use. Or I would get tiny marks from using the facial scrub during my feminine period.
And so off I try my Korean brand fav and buy there in SM.
I anticipated I would still find a small bottle, the same kind I chanced upon my sister's.
But the sales lady told me they don't have a small but a large bottle (it's actually a squeezable product tube) instead and it's priced at around
Php 400 plus. Oh expensive I said to myself.
But given that I could perhaps use the cleanser for months after, I decided to buy.
The baking soda deep cleansing facial foam has a strong scent unlike my gentle cleanser. But I have used it for weeks now already. I put on a pea size amount and use it at night before bedtime.
I checked Etude House Philippines website and it describes the product as meant for deep cleansing of pores, to remove stubborn makeup residue specifically for cleansing off bb creams.
And so this is how I use this baking soda deep cleansing foam; for removing makeup at the end of the day, a go to cleansing routine.
I do not recommend this though for daily use for those with really sensitive skin because of the microbeads; that is if you are used to having scent-free, gentle facial cleansers.
But it can be good for once in while or twice a week exfoliation.
This Etude House b.b baking soda deep cleansing facial foam is also nice to use before or after applying on a homemade facial mask.
Again I stress that each skincare product may give different results among consumers depending on skincare type, sensitivity issues and other health concerns so best that you ask the opinion of a dermatologist or any skincare expert.
As for me I'm keeping my options open when it comes to skincare for moms.
