Before I went back to using diy (do-it-yourself) facial mask, I have already been using commercially available facial mask from Watsons.
I usually go for the cucumber variant which was good and instantly makes my face looks refreshed.
Given the sophistication a woman's skin care routine has become these days where items like serums, beauty capsules etc are picked to complement each other, facial masks are still the simpler, less complicated skin care fix.
Aside from the variety of choices with mostly nature-inspired ingredients, these commercial facial masks are handy, pocket-sized and easy to use.
Homemade facial masks take effort to prepare; however readily available beauty masks can be expensive to maintain (one ordinary mask equals to one fastfood meal) and that's Php 400 a month, if used twice a week so that's almost a day's wage locally.
Anyway that is for moms to opt for.
And so I tried this brightening and moisturizing facial mask with orange and bamboo essence. It's actually made in Korea.
The facial mask according to the product label is free from parabens, alcohol and colourants.
It is made from jeju hanrabong extract and it is actually a biodegradable fabric mask sheet.
It has vitamin C to brighten dull skin, and some of it's ingredients include glycerin, hydrolyzed collagen, citrus extracts.
I am just mentioning choice ingredients from the product description which drew me over to have this variant.
I used the mask after cleansing making sure I had no traces of makeup on.
The facial mask smells like a fresh greenery of scents, and putting the sheet mask infused with natural ingredients felt like having a spa.
The scent was relaxing and soothing.
The natural essences is somehow similar to a clear gel like moisturizer of a skincare brand I'm using. It feels light and watery on skin but a little sticky on hand.
I left it on for about 15 minutes. The mask has to be put on preferably when lying down in bed because it is not a peel off and rinse off facial mask.
One should apply it just before bedtime (for busy moms) because this is a kind of mask that takes effort to use.
After 15 minutes I lifted the mask and massaged my face. After this the watery gel like ingredients set in to dry and my hands felt oily or greasy.
I do not mind the oilyness though but leaving the facial mask for a longer time would feel uncomfortable I chose to cleanse after.
Results wise, after use my skin felt softer, refreshed, dewy-looking and somehow rejuvenated.
Is it better than diy facial mask?
Natural homemade facial mask gives better instant brightening benefits, while this particular facial mask offer a spa-like aromatherapy scent that is a good relaxing benefit for moms.
And for this reason, this facial mask make it a nice try of a beauty regimen.
