An Old Makeup Blog, Still the Same Beauty Perspectives

Hey ladies and moms.

How has it been? My blog at this time looks vintage already.

How technology allows us to fly high but old fast.

These days, minimalist items in beauty and skincare have become a rule of continuance for this blogger's loyalty, following the pandemic keel over.

So must you try, have you tried getting beauty products in mini bottles?

Back here at home, there are many online shopping sites that featured products with a try-and-buy approach to consumers. This makes one's skin essentials affordable.

And the picks are aplenty.  There are toners, cleansers, serums, and hydrating creams which are available in low ml.

Small bottles of beauty products are good to last for a month, if one is a light user.

So the secret to being practical,  when it comes to using beauty products,  is to apply creams and liquid beauty solutions in pea-sized, or thin-spread amounts; and not on the lavish side of beauty product consumption. This restraint in application makes sure there is no spoilage as well.

Also by keeping a minimum owns of beauty products, one can test whether what one has been using, is still good enough to keep the skin away from minor breakouts or blemishes.  This will help minimize doctor visits for expensive derma treatments.

Here comes the importance of having a faithful skincare routine that will assure the lady in us that our skin is managed and maintained like a pro.  Not just as a beauty fan but to exude a good impression.  Our beauty philosophy must also make us more learned about skincare that is best suited to our skin type.

What's your skincare lesson during the pandemic that you can share here on this blog? Please comment or keep on reading my previous posts.

Thank you for reading my blog. Have a nice beautiful day.

It's 2021. What's In Your Beauty Bucket List That's Not All About Makeup?

Alas. The year has passed. And a New Year has unfurled.

Have you created a bucket list to keep you in the goal-track of your career-domestic life?

Here just for a light read am sharing a few in my list, which I think every beauty-conscious mom/woman must strive.

THE NO-MAKE UP, BEAUTY BUCKETLIST

1.  To say no to social media posts that hype on the negative.

It's better to spend time to read good posts that impart wisdom or share practical tips that allow one to grow. Rather than be notified about the latest negative news, don't you think?  Stay positive by saying 'no' to sensational news stories and features.

2.  Get a lot of mentoring-- whether it is on personality development, career pathing or upskilling.

It doesn't help to get stale now that almost every age have a good grasp of the advances in technology from apps--to sophisticated gadgets.

The experience of COVID-19 has pushed many moms and dads to learn fast and how to mix work with domestic routine. And learning helpful apps and how to use technology to one's advantage can help one keep the pace of changes to one's career.

3.  Appreciate the hard work of your creations.

Little successes can mean a lot in the phase of the pandemic. So celebrate mundane creations or changes at home or at work, with a grateful heart.

From renovating the house or going out of your way to help others, it is still the little things that can matter to lift one's day and others'.

The Usual Skin Care Worries You Can Have During a Home Stay

It's been months since many were compelled to stay home due to the COVID-19 fears.

Prolonged homestay can naturally bring  some skin care concerns for a woman. And this is where skincare must come in. These can include:

  • Dry hair
  • Enlarged pores
  • Dull skin

Based on my experience, my anti-ageing efforts can be affected by the lack of availability of skincare products in usual stores.

Since most consumers are also limping on their budget, sales can be low and hence the grocery shelves and usual places where one frequents to hunt for skincare items may not be as stocked up with one's favorites.

Simply put it, the products can be limited to essentials.

But as a consumer, products that care for one's overall appearance is still a must have.

Stock up or get in tiny bottles, your skincare hygiene must not be forgotten all the more as you age.

Yes, skincare must not be forgotten.

So, here are some reminders for women who decide to stay home instead and minimize their outdoor activities during the COVID-19 concerns:

MAKE SURE YOUR PRODUCTS HAVE MANY USES.

To save up on buying, you can go for multi-purpose products like a serum that can act as a skin moisturizer and as a hair sheen, or a makeup primer in case you would have to go out for an important trip to the grocery.

STOCK UP ON PERSONAL VANITY ITEMS FROM TISSUE TO WOMEN CARE ITEMS.

This can save a lot of discomfort.

Convenience stores and malls can be open but your favorite brands of vanity products from bath to face cleansers may not be available.

Cleansing is a must and a basic for skin care.  Despite of whatever home situation or social distancing measures you adhere to, one must always have his/ her trusted skin cleansers around the home.

AROMATHERAPY OIL CAN ASSURE RELAXATION DURING STRESSFUL DAYS.

It is better to have an aromatherapy oil within one's reach just in case one's favorite spa or salon is not open to treat your muscle pains or discomfort. Because having to stay home and away from your work does not mean no stress at all. It can go the other way especially when your home routine becomes more busy than usual.

So get that favorite scent of your aromatherapy oil and take that much needed break.

When one's self-care during COVID-19 steps up, one's beauty routine must not be swept to the sides of un-priorities.

All These Can Result To Signs of Ageing, Check These Out

Hi there. It's been quite awhile really. After the holidays, we can all get that signs of "feeling" older more so if you haven't taken care much of yourself during the holidays.

And it's real. You've just added another year to 2019 right?

Then again, when things get swept under the rug for something more productive - like goal-setting, one can really be forgetful of keeping those skincare routine and make up updating.

Call it budget restraints or otherwise, maybe you have found new things to take your hobby to.

Just to share how you might be going less or under your usual beauty routine that's right for your age, here are some ideas to clue you in when you simply need to get back on your skincare and those thoughtful beauty essentials.

Undereye check when the eyebags are more pronounced than before.

Admit it. It can be frustrating to see eyebags when you think you've been faithfully kind to your face--putting on those skincare products and makeup to shield your skin from ageing.

But it is what it is. Eyebags are a thing of ageing. And sometimes concealer won't do those instant wonder.

What to do?

Sleep deficiencies.

Lack of sleep can result to skin ageing, too.

Try to let go of your sked. Once you think you're activities are not only slowing you down and has resulted to tiredness, make it a point to forget about your task list.

This way, you give your self some time to recover and for your skin to get rejuvenated.

To complement your time off, you can apply a night time or quick fix moisturizer.

And then check out your face for some noticeable change after a short break.

With a good moisturizer you can actually find a difference on your face about an hour after application.

With a nice moisturizer, makeup application will look more polished and evenly done, while the pores can actually look younger even with just a few minutes of sleep and with a beauty find of a moisturizer.

Your skincare products no longer work perfectly as before.

You think your products which have worked for the longest time are there for good. But after quite sometime, you'll notice these are no longer as effective.

Maybe your skin texture has changed or your wrinkles are beginning to show and you need stronger anti-ageing products.

So it's not a constant skincare set you must rely on.

When you see these happening, try discovering new products. And adjust to using them.

A good example to be more explorative when it comes to skincare is to tryout new anti-ageing products.

Because once in a while a new product can probably outbest your old one.

Don't stick to one anti-ageing skincare product when you're older.

These two tips are only a reminder to all of us women to stay true to what we have been called for: to be beautiful in whatever age.

The Eyelash Effect: The Basic Stuff to Make It A Little Glam

For some women, it's a brow thing. And two items come to mind- the brow mascara and the brow liner. When one is particular about the eyebrows, the things that can be found in one's beauty stash include: the dip brow pomade, the tweezer, the brow shadow, and a whole lot more.

For others however, it's the eyelash that needs "enhancing". So, these stuff are a must-have for eyelash-centric beauty fans:

For a beautiful eyelash effect, here are some must-have fancy items one can have:

  1. Eyelash curler- there are a lot of picks. But this pocket-size vanity item must curve politely to the eyelid to make that perfect curl.
  2. Mascara- to give that perfect shade of black to make your lash really nice and bouncy, thick or lengthened, however you want it. For the mascara you can have the following choices: black, colored or liquid transparent (colorless).
  3. Eyelash extension- if you wanna up your ante to make your eyelash more dramatic, go for an eyelash extension. It can give glam  impression.  There is also a do-it-yourself version of eyelash extension, something you can do at home. But you have to search for a safe eyelash glue if you have sensitive skin. Meanwhile, salon-styled eyelash extension can be pricier but  can last longer too; about two to 2 - 6 weeks.  I actually prefer the salon-styled eyelash extension over the d-i-y eyelash extension.
What makes it special to get an eyelash extension:
  • It brightens up your face and gives you a sophisticated look
  • It can make you look more feminine
  • You embrace your glam side. Also having an enhanced eyelash can complement whatever look you have - whether your dress or outfit is a casual or a formal wear.

Disadvantages of getting an eyelash extension:

  • You have to spare some budget and book an appointment with the salon because it takes time to finish the eyelash extension service.
  • You also have to find an eyelash salon that can satisfy your standards. An eyelash extension can stir some sensitivity.

Once in a while, you can try this service and see how it feels to be glam all over again, moms.

The Shift to Naturals in Skincare

Skincare can be expensive. And usually with skincare, the starting point is the soap, the usual buy of a consumer.
An ordinary soap can cost as much as Php 150- 250.00,   depending on the soap maker/producer, and location where it’s bought.  Whereas one can buy a commercial soap in major stores and even neighborhood stores for a third of a price mentioned.
Is there really a difference for those who doesn't want to make a fuss out of the brand or the soap ingredients?
As a soap buyer, it's not really a big issue because soaps are generally intended for cleansing.  But to a skincare enthusiast, the ingredients matter.  Because using soaps made from nature can be more beneficial in the long run.
Below is a comparison of how commercial soaps differ from natural soaps.
                Commercial soaps are:
o   More accessible. You can buy this kind of soap anywhere, anytime.
o   Affordable.  A fraction of a cost of organic, or natural soaps can make a lot of different in the purchasing decision of a consumer.
o   Variety of choices. With commercial soaps you have plenty of options. You can pick those with whitening, or moisturizing benefits, etc. And the variants are more pronounced and eclectic.
Natural soaps:
o   Have selective ingredients.  It's ingredients can be so discriminating that you can find these only in natural soaps.  Natural soap products can have floral-based, skincare-focused ingredients. It can even use a combination of ingredients to give the best effect on skin.
o   Limited availability. When one runs out of natural soaps, one has to go to the specific store where it can be bought. Locally these are available in specialty stores or shops.
o   Skincare benefits can be seen and observed.  The effects of natural soaps are more immediate and can be seen by a consumer.
It's really about the preferences of a soap buyer, whether to choose commercial or natural soaps.  But a skincare enthusiast can’t really tell the difference until one uses both products regularly.

These having said, are shared from a consumer’s experience and not from a skin care expert.
What do you think is more important, skin care or makeup in one’s every day  beauty  items?

Why Makeup is an Anti-aging Habit for Moms

I believe in rebellin' against one's age, by this i mean defying wrinkes, enlarged pores, dry skin, and those skin and facial ageing signs.

Although I do not have anything against ageing, I have this philosophy that when one is able to take care of herself (let's just use the momperspective), then that youthfulness disposition would remain despite one is at her forty-something years already.

What's wrong with a little wrinkle here and there? I think it has a psychological effect on women  because we were born to be associated with femininity and beauty.  Thus wrinkles and signs of ageing go against the woman's philosophy of being beautiful.  Well, others may have their own philosophy.

Keeping one's youthful disposition by taking care of oneself is a positive way to embrace ageing I suppose.  Motherhood is tight with domestic, routinary duties and hence challenging. But if a mom tries to keep her beauty as part of her daily activity,  then this would be good for the emotional health of a mom.

So I say put on a makeup before you get out of the house,  and never look at your age as a sign to get frumpy but instead, work for your ageless beauty.

Happy day moms!
